NSA will soon be holding by-elections for positions on the Student Executive for 2012/13. You can get more information about these roles below. If you are interested, download a form and return it to NSA by Wednesday 21st March 2012 at 12 noon.

5 PART-TIME FACULTY OFFICER POSTS:

Business School Academic Officer

Health, Life & Social Sciences Academic Officer
Health, Life & Social Sciences Well-Being Officer
(Candidates must be on a course registered to this faculty)

Engineering, Computing & Creative Industries Academic Officer
Engineering, Computing & Creative Industries Well-Being Officer
(Candidates must be on a course registered to this faculty)

  • Hours: average 3-4 per week during term time
  • Starts: Summer 2012
  • Ends: Summer 2013
  • Involves: Doing exec duties while still on your course
  • Training: Induction and residential planning events

2 STUDENT TRUSTEES

  • Student Trustees shall be neither student representatives on the Association’s Executive, nor office-holders within any of its sports clubs or student societies, but shall be independent student trustees of the Association with responsibility for its effective running of the Association as a charity.
  • Elected student trustees are required to consider what is best for the governance of the Association as a whole in line with its charitable objects rather than represent any sectional interest.
  • Trustees will contribute their skills and knowledge to NSA “as an organisation” to help it equip itself as best it can to meet the challenges the organisation faces in the delivering its goals.
  • Lay student trustees may also be assigned to delegated functions of the Board or other bodies as required.
  • It might suit students studying for professional or business qualification, or any student looking to add the skills of trusteeship to their CV. Training will be given and members will be part of a professional team of people having overall control of a real organisation with a turnover of £500K, employing 13 staff.
