I see this position as being of great value in terms of work experience for myself and also realise this is a very important role in NSA. Currently I am in my final year of BA(Hons) Hospitality and Marketing Management. I feel that the areas covered in my degree will help me in the post as the hospitality industry is very much concerned with people.
I feel that Napier University is an under-achiever when it comes to sport. I aim to raise the level of quality in all clubs and in turn bring more sporting success to the University.
I truly believe that there are lots of talented sportsmen and women at Napier who do not represent the University as it is not perceived as a high enough level or serious enough. I would aim to raise the profile of the sporting clubs at the University to make them more appealing to potential members.
I would aim to review the facilities used by the various clubs and societies within the University and seek to improve these where appropriate.
I would aim to improve the funding for clubs and societies by encouraging and assisting with fundraising events.
It is vital that NSA members conduct themselves in a proper manner. I intend to draw up disciplinary guidelines that would be applicable to and enforced by all clubs.
I feel that the Student Union has shown vast improvement over the last year, I would like to use the knowledge gathered in my studies to make this venture more successful and encourage NSA members to make best use of this facility.
As president of the men's football club and sitting on the sports executive I believe I have had an insight into the task ahead and would relish the opportunity to further develop NSA.
