NSA Elections - David Waddell

As Treasurer and Activities Officer, I would propose a higher level of social interaction between all of the sports clubs and societies. I do not feel that the potential of the newly re-opened NSA bar has been exploited to the full. The numbers of sports clubs and societies attending the Wednesday nights in City and Mood has dropped since the last year, and I intend to address why this has happened, and resolve it. This year's Exec hosted two fantastic Freshers weeks, and as Events Organiser, I would aim to continue this success into the next term, and replicate these events on a more frequent basis.

I aim to propose the University provide more funding to the NSA for sports and societies, as the number and size of sports clubs and societies is increasing, and there needs to be more funding in order to fully support these. I feel that societies are an important part of a Napier student's life, and need to be more publicised, and more involved with the NSA. I would like to increase the size of the existing societies and make creating new societies easier.

I have two and a half years of experience as president of Napier University Snowsports Club, during which time the club has signed up more members than ever, and won Sports Club of the Year 05/06. I organised the NUSC Rail Jam in aid of Disability Snowsport Scotland, in which we raised £120 for the charity.

I believe I can work with my fellow Exec members to improve the sports and societies at Napier, and continue the successes of the previous Exec, as well as work on the areas that need improvement.
