Students from Edinburgh Napier University and the University of West of Scotland won the Andrew Parker RCNi Award for their involvement in organising: Building Momentum - An event for Non Learning Disability Nurses in January 2016.
Building momentum was a national conference organised by non-learning disability nursing students in collaboration with NHS Education Scotland. The event was aimed at first year nursing students across Scotland who were not studying to be a learning disability nurse to raise awareness of the needs of people with learning disability. Over 180 delegates and contributors attended the day which consisted of a mixture of talks, workshops and a taster sessions from learning disability specialists, charities and organisations.
