Film

We’re just a small bunch of individuals who like to go see films. Good films at that. Napier University Film Society, (or NUFS as we like to call ourselves) is one of Napier’s longest running non-sporting clubs. We also happen to be “Most Improved Society 2006/2007”. Meeting every Thursday, we aim to give our members the chance to watch lesser-known, independent films with a bunch of friends. So, if you prefer Amelie to Groundhog Day, we’re the society for you.

Over the year, we’re usually spotted every Thursday evening at the Cameo, Edinburgh’s first independent arts cinema. We’re also seen at Brass Monkey, a pub that has its very own private screening room in the back. With velvet curtains, scatter cushions and low lighting, this place is our own little heaven!

But don’t let yourself be intimidated by us, we’re not poncy art-house folk, just people that like to watch decent films and go to the pub. This year we plan to take NUFS further than it’s been before! We plan to travel around a couple different film festivals, set up a couple of filmrelated workshops, get some speakers in from the industry, and have lots of fun whilst doing it! So come along, see some new faces, and make some great friends!

For more info about us, check out our website, drop us an e-mail, or just come on down to the Cameo, where you’re sure to find us in the bar! We’ll also be found at this year’s Fresher Fair where you’ll have a chance to see for yourself that we’re really lovely people! We hope to see you at one of our future events!
