New for 2009 is the Edinburgh Napier Gaming Society, a place where you can reveal your inner geek without fear of stinging mockery! Primarily we are a friendly bunch who all share a love of computer games, be it the most modern graphics intense game or an 8-bit gem blast from the past.
The society has the aim of bringing people with a common interest together in a friendly atmosphere to play the games we all love. Speaking of games, you really cant beat a decent game of Counterstrike can you? Counterstrike 1.6 LANs have been going on throughout the last summer and are ready to take off for the next academic year. Why Counterstrike 1.6? Because the chances are it will run on most peoples laptops!
For those who have huge mighty brains capable of multitasking, resource collection, research, offence and defence at the same time then you will be glad to know that RTS games are going to be selected for LAN parties depending on peoples preferences (probably Command and Conquer). Oh and for people who just want to kill heaps of zombies, plans are in the works for Left 4 Dead nights with prizes going for the best zombie moans.
For people who like to flex their competitive thumbs at each other there will be competitions held throughout the year ranging from guitar hero battles to beat-em-up championships, up for grabs are prizes that we are yet to arrange but will probably be hax0r-super1337!!1! For more information please see the Napier Gaming Society Facebook group, it’s really lovely.
