Indian Culture

Anime

Back in 2005 there was an idea for an Indian Culture society. Already Indian festivals were celebrated and films shown at Napier, but it was not until 2007 that the society was finally formed.

The main aim of the formation of this society was to celebrate the essence of Indian culture amongst Napier students from all ethnic origins. Besides this, there has been a significant rise in the number of Indian students joining Napier University for their graduate and post graduate studies. The society’s aim is to celebrate and enjoy Indian festivals and values, film and food.

Events planned for the year include: the organisation and celebration of the Indian festivals starting with the festival of lights, Diwali, in the month of November; screening of new and old Bollywood movies in the University, staging of Bhangra and DJ nights at the NSA Bar; social meetings with dinner arrangements.

Any Napier student can become a member of this society - it costs a fee of £3 to join. This amount has been kept to a minimum so that once a member , the student can enjoy the whole year without paying any extra amount of money. This membership is only for Napier students.
