As one of the largest societies in the University, the Edinburgh Napier Law Society has one main vision: to create a community for any student with an interest in law. We aim to augment the academic coursework with field trips and talks from pertinent individuals while also trying to strike a balance between the interaction of the law and current affairs.
The Society is not all about academics; mooting and social events are also at the heart of it. The highlight of the year is our annual Law Ball usually held in May. We organise regular social events which are intended to help in the process of kicking back, having fun and forgetting the strain of coursework and student life. Mooting on the other hand is an enjoyable undertaking for those who are interested in legal debate.
The Society runs a successful and popular mentoring programme for students on both the BA and LLB law courses. The experience of having a mentor is priceless and is available to all first year law students who would like to take advantage of it. This year sees the advent of our sports team which will embark on the challenge of making our debut year on the sports scene a successful one.
Our website (which also provides a handy bookshop), regular meetings and facebook group “Edinburgh Napier law society” are great ways to meet and keep in touch with Society members.
