LOOK! Napier Uni Lens Media Society

Look! is a brand new society for those who have a passion and enthusiasm for photography and film-making and we welcome new members.

The society aims to build a community of like-minded individuals; people you can share and discuss your ideas with. Look! intends to offer a unique opportunity for networking across the creative industries in and outside of University. In the future we plan to give our members the opportunity to meet professional practitioners.

Look! wants to inspire our members to develop their awareness of the role, that photography and film plays within visual culture. Look! will be inviting a variety of guest speakers to talk to the society about their own area of expertise. We will be continually informing our members of external exhibitions, events and talks happening throughout the year, and arrange discounted group trips when there is lots of interest. We will also be encouraging our members to enter local, national and international competitions.

Look! wants to culminate our first year with an open submissions photographic exhibition for our members in a gallery space in Edinburgh. This “First Look!” exhibition will showcase our members' work and the society in general.

Our website www.thelooksociety.co.uk will be regularly updated with details of our own and other relevant events, and news about the society. We will be displaying posters and information relevant to the Look! members around the University.
