Morningside School of Music

Morningside School of Music Society is set up to teach musical instruments to Napier students. You can learn Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Piano, Singing, Drums, Violin, Saxophone, Music Production, Music Theory and much more.

Concentrating more on popular music, we also teach classical, jazz, blues, folk...you get the idea. All of the teachers are qualified, young, fresh, friendly and have so much to offer.

Getting into a band has never been easier, even if you have never played before, we supply the practice space, the equipment and we even have a fantastic new recording studio which our members can use. We also have society nights out across many venues, pubs and clubs in Edinburgh that just can’t be missed!

We make learning an instrument fun, easy, modern and exciting! Complete beginners are most definitely welcome. You can learn for fun, play solo or in a band, or you can work towards doing grades in popular or classical music.

We have group tuition, private lessons, and workshops throughout each year. Every few months we have music industry experts come along to advise you on everything from marketing, record deals, management, contracts etc.

Lessons take place between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. The society also has fortnightly workshops in the evenings. We all meet up once a week for drinks in Morningside.
