Archery

Ever fancied trying something different? Napier University Archery Club is a new club that was set up at the tail-end of 2004 and has been competing regularly at inter-university competitions. The club boasts representation in the SUS league and BUSA and SUS Championships.

Throughout the year there will be plenty of chances to own your own piece of silverware for both experienced and beginner archers. Last year alone the club finished second in the SUS league and collected a number of prizes by both Senior and Novice archers at all the major university events.

We look forward to welcoming students of ALL standards, whether a pro or someone who doesn’t even know how to hold a bow, to come along and see what we do and give archery a go for themselves. Students are welcome whether they are interested in shooting competitively or recreationally.

Archery

Don’t worry if you don’t have your own kit as the club has its own stock of equipment that you can train with. The club’s coaches are experienced archers who will take you from the basics right through to helping you tune your own equipment. Target archery is high precision and technical support (give or take a little luck), which doesn’t require you to be all that fit or strong (hooray). Men and women compete against one another directly. We have two main seasons, an indoor and an outdoor, which take place over winter and what passes for a Scottish summer. However one of the most important aspects of the club is our social life as we all enjoy nothing better than a pint to celebrate a win or reflect on what went wrong. Full details about the club activities can be found on our website, where you can find out about our training times and venues or just laugh at the photos, but most importantly be able to get in touch with us.
