Do you enjoy kicking a ball while downing a double vodka? If so, then joining Ladies’ Football could be the best move you’ll make while at uni. Whatever your age, course, ability or background, the club welcomes you to come along, take part on the pitch and get ready to party with us on the legendary Wednesday-nights-out after matches.
Training is usually on a Tuesday night between 8.30pm and 10pm and whatever the weather, we’re there training and having a laugh at the newly surfaced Saughton Sports Complex.
Currently the team competes in the BUCS Scottish University Football Ladies 2nd Division and all games are played at 2pm on Wednesday afternoons. Home games are held at Saughton but the real banter happens on the road at away games. The mini bus banter on trips to Aberdeen and Dundee is always especially memorable!
After giving it all on the pitch its time to let your hair down, celebrate (or drown the sorrows) with a good few drinks at our sponsor pub and then off to City nightclub for a good old dance session. The nights out are always a good laugh and often we have theme nights which are a good excuse to dress up and look like dafties.
The team has really improved over the past couple of years and it would be great to keep that going for the 08/09 season by getting a big group of girls who aren’t afraid to get stuck in on the pitch and join in with the antics off the pitch. So come on ladies, if it sounds like your idea of a good time join the ladies football team and help make it the best year yet on AND off the pitch.
