Despite the pandemic, the climate emergency remains humanity’s most serious threat. Whilst some people remain in explicit denial, ignoring or dismissing the evidence, many of us show more subtle ways of distancing ourselves from the uncomfortable truth. This session will give a very brief overview of the state of climate change science and then describe some of the main ways in which denial of the science and its consequences occurs. We will discuss what can be done about this, as individuals, a university and a society.
