If you have an interest in forensics or would like a potential career within a prison setting, this trip is a fantastic opportunity to tour a working prison, close to Sighthill campus, and meet fully qualified staff to answer any questions you may have.
Due to the nature of the tour, this will be an exclusive trip with limited spaces, prioritised for full society members. Please RSVP quickly to avoid disapointment!
We will be meeting outside HMP Edinburgh bus stop at Jan 25 (Thursday) at 9am to go through security and then begin our trip. The entire event will last approximately 3 hours.

YOU MUST BRING PHOTO ID SUCH AS A DRIVING LICENCE OR A PASSPORT TO GO THROUGH SECURITY.
PLEASE BRING £1 FOR A LOCKER AS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED:
- Personal Communication Devices including PDAs; laptops; tablets; mobile telephones or mobile telephone chargers; and any other device that allows connection to the internet or phone networks.
- Memory devices: memory cards, USB devices, or mobile phone SIM cards.
- Offensive weapons (i.e. an article made or adapted for the use of causing injury to a person, or an article intended to be used for causing injury to a person).
- Knifes and blades including cutters and razor blades, or any item which is sharply pointed.
- Firearms and ammunition, or explosives.
- Smoking materials including tobacco, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, lighters and matches.
- Drugs including prescribed medication.
- Cameras.
- E-Books.
- Alcohol.
Please be made aware that all tour participants name's will be provided to prison staff for security purposes.
