Browse Charity Partners Positive Realities Positive Realities (SCIO) is an Edinburgh youth charity with a focus on supporting and empowering young people. We pride ourselves in our free life coaching opportunities; run positive psychology based workshops; can provide additional support to young people, their parents/carers and siblings; and are delighted to have expanded our services by starting two new groups: Thursday 'Social Hub' and 'My Sunday Space'. Our Thursday ‘Social Hub' is a fortnightly social club for young people aged 14-24 who may find socialising difficult, would like to make some friends, try new activities and learn about relationship skills, building confidence and be part of a wee community. There is also an element of self-development involving setting coaching-based goals. We meet at Dance Base in the Grassmarket from 6-8pm. 'My Sunday Space' is a fortnightly group for 12-25 year olds to reflect on and improve their emotional wellbeing. This has been funded by the NHS Carer Information Strategy so the focus is primarily on young people with caring responsibilities but we are delighted to open it up to anyone who may find this a useful space. It will include discussion, learning and sharing around things like understanding emotions, finding balance in life, coping with difficult situations...and also a safe space to speak about and share other issues. Our next meeting will be a group trip to the Wellbeing Mela on Sunday 23rd October and thereafter it will be the cool, private, venue of LifesCycle on Newhaven Road. We also have volunteer opportunities for those who are 16-30. This would involve assistance with group facilitation, possibly leading sessions with individuals to discuss their progress with goals and spreading the word about these, hopefully, beneficial groups. There would be induction for this role, of course, and may benefit those looking to work with young people and the voluntary sector in the future. If you are interested or would like more information, we'd be delighted to hear from you! 0131 629 4800 or firstname.lastname@example.org View Volunteering Opportunities from this Charity Partner Official Website Email this Volunteering Partner for more information Facebook Page Volunteering Opportunities from this Partner Group Facilitator Positive Realities Assistance with group facilitation, possibly leading sessions with individuals to discuss their progress with goals and spreading the word about these, hopefully, beneficial groups.
