Activity Coordinator volunteer
This opportunity takes place between 31 Aug 2017 and 12 Sep 2018.
Can you run informal activities based on your hobbies, interests or pastimes? Unemployment can be a very isolating experience and many of our clients struggle with a lack of confidence. Taking up an activity allows our clients the chance to develop new skills and improve their confidence.
We offer a good induction and on-going training based on your volunteering role and personal development.
Benefits to self
You’ll gain practical and hands on experience of supporting people with a disability or a long term health condition. You’ll have the opportunity to directly support the people who come to us for help. You will also have the satisfaction sharing your skills, interests and time.
Benefits to other
This opportunity is at Wellbeing Works where we offer disabled people participating in Work First Scotland access to a range of services aimed at improving their health and employment chances.
Examples of activities that could be undertaken include starting a book club or walking group, or perhaps a sewing, yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating, art, or dance class. This is by no means exhaustive and we are keen to hear from anyone with a skill or hobby that they would like to impart.
