Student Executive Pathway
Pathway Stages Explained
Part-time Officers will have been invited to attend Student Executive training soon after assuming their role. If you were not able to attend such training we can arrange a role induction for you if you contact us.
Student Executive meetings occur frequently throughout the year and you will need to attend a minimum of 8 to complete the pathway. Exec meetings should be arranged outside of your study timetable.
There are a number of workshops or courses that we offer which will help you develop your skills in certain areas. These workshops are organised around 8 key skill areas and are there for your personal and professional development.
Read more about the 8 key skills here
Sign up for workshops or courses on the Training page in the Student Development Programme drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Throughout the year ENSA staff and Sabbatical Officers will be hosting themed 'Pop-Up Unions' around all the campuses. Each one will have a different theme, with the aim of promoting a specfic service or opportunity to students. Part-time Officers can sign up to join us for one of the 'Pop-Up Unions'.
Alternatively, you may want to attend a Rep Drop-In if this is more appropriate for your role. Rep Drop-Ins will be held on each campus at least once per Trimester and are a chance for all Programme Reps to come together to discuss relevant matters and get peer support and advice from ENSA
Reflective practice simply means thinking about your actions and experiences to draw unconscious thoughts and feelings into the open. You should use the VBase logging tool to record the skills you develop while performing your role, with practical examples to illustrate this.
Read our guide to Reflective Practice here. You can download anything you add to your VBase record for use in the future when writing a C.V. or preparing for a job interview. Download your Volunteer Record here.
