VBase - home of ENSA Volunteering

VBase is the ENSA Volunteering centre, and is also where you can find out about the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme.

You can find and apply for a variety of local volunteering opportunities on the website, and find out about international volunteering, skills development and employabiity.

Log & Record Your Volunteering

Once you start volunteering, remember to regularly visit our VBase hubs to log the hours spent volunteering and record the skills you're developing in your role. Our Volunteering Coordinators can help you get your experiences down on paper which will be invaluable when moving on in your career.
You can print out a personalised Volunteer Record which will give you a "volunteering cv", a great starting off point for developing your skills and career goals.

Volunteering Support

Through the service you can expect to receive:

•    Pre-volunteering support: Access to our ENSA Volunteering team to help you investigate and identify the best volunteering option for you
•    While-volunteering support: Access by phone, email or in person to the ENSA Volunteering team as well as your workplace volunteering supervisor. You will be encouraged to log your volunteering activities and skills development on the VBase system which will enable you to keep track of your volunteering and reflect back on what you are learning.
•    Ongoing Support: During and after your volunteering experience there are a range of services which you can access to support you in your volunteering journey. These include: University Careers Service, Confident Futures, Personal Development Tutors, ENSA Advice and the ENSA Volunteering team.
•    Post-Volunteering Support: Once you have completed your volunteering, or as you need it, our ENSA Volunteering Coordinators will offer you a private one to one session to enable you to reflect on your volunteering and enable you to think about the skills and behaviours you have gained. Your coach will help you work through your competencies, skills and activities and decide how these can be utilised to create a CV, Job Application and/or improve your interview skills.
