Manifesto

I Duncan McMiken have put myself forward and running for the position of Co-President Education & Employability, I have experience in being a student rep for three years for Biological Sciences and volunteered for many Open days. I want to run for Co-President Education & Employability as I want to promote students’ skills and support for employability and readiness for everyones future employment.

As of recently the UK altogether is facing a 5 year-high of unemployment I want students and people to remember their skills and values that they have achieved and got from their journey to university, and make everyone feel more valued when it comes to applying for jobs and positions in their future careers. Everyone knows they have a voice, but I want them to feel empowered and motivated for work and always bring their best to all positions in their lives and highlighting Napiers many accessible employment opportunities and services.

I have many experiences volunteering with Napiers Biomed labs on open days giving a student’s perspective of Napier and endorsement, aswell as being a representative for Biological sciences class for three years, offering support and signposting/ guidance to Napiers many support services.

I would want to promote Napiers many supportive services for employment, and I would want to make students more motivated for employment and aware of their many skills and talents people don’t realise hold so much value, to be more motivated to attend lectures and look forward to their time at Napier and their future!

Note: all manifestos are posted as provided and cut off if they exceeded the set limit (300 words).
