ENSA is recruiting three students to serve on our Board of Directors!
Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (ENSA) is looking for three enthusiastic, reliable and committed students to fill our Student Lay Director positions to start in September 2022.
The Student Lay Directors will support the mission of ENSA by serving in a voluntary capacity on our Board of Directors. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of skills to increase your employability whilst ensuring students are properly heard and represented. No previous Board experience is required.
This is a voluntary role open to all students of Edinburgh Napier University. You must be a student in the 2022/2023 academic year and remain a student during this academic year to apply.
Here’s what a recent Student Lay Director had to say about his experience:
"Serving on the Board has done so much for me both personally and professionally, giving me invaluable Board experience which has given me transferable skills in governance of an organisation, people management, inter-organisational relationship management and recruitment experience, just to name a few things, all of which have massively aided me in securing a graduate job - can’t think what I would have done without the experience I gained from ENSA!"
ENSA is a registered charity that exists to enable students to make the most of their university experience. Our three Elected Officers serve as champions for students, ensuring they are properly represented and have access to sports and societies, advice and support, training and events.
The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ENSA’s governance, for upholding its values and aligning it to the Association’s charitable aims. It aspires constantly to improve standards of governance and standards of good practice. It also sets the overall strategic direction for ENSA and evaluates progress towards objectives.
For more information on ENSA, please refer to the About section on this website.
Our 2021-22 Impact Report can be found here.
Appointments are expected to last one year with the possibility of a second term.
All Directors are expected to prepare for and attend Board meetings, usually six a year, and serve on one of the Board’s sub-committees (Finance and Risk or Human Resources). The time commitment required is around 6 hours a month or so.
How to apply
