Sports Volunteer Committee

We are looking for volunteers to support our Co-President for Sport & Wellbeing and influence key decisions that impact our clubs' growth and success.

Joining the Sports Volunteer Committee offers an opportunity to collaborate with Edinburgh Napier Students' Association (ENSA) and make a significant impact on our sports clubs. As a committee member, you will work closely with the Co-President of Sport & Wellbeing to influence key decisions that support our clubs' growth and success. 

As part of this, you will be expected to attend a monthly meeting on Thursday afternoons. There will also be further opportunities to get involved as detailed below. 

Responsibilities: 

Sports Award Panel: 

  • Participate in the selection process for Blues, Half Blues, and Colours awards. 
  • Shortlist the top three candidates for each award category. 
  • Contribute to the final decision-making process to determine the winners. 

Development Fund Panel: 

  • Review funding applications from various sports clubs. 
  • Approve applications and allocate funding based on valuable projects. 
  • Provide constructive feedback to declined applicants, suggesting improvements for future applications. 

Policy Review and Approval: 

  • Evaluate and approve new updates on policies. 
  • Review current policies and suggest changes/ improvements to the ENSA staff team. 

Disciplinary Panels: 

  • Hear different disciplinary complaints. 
  • Support the panel in deciding the outcomes of the disciplinary. 

Sports Related Events: 

  • Assist in planning and organising the annual Awards Ball and Varsity events. 
  • Contribute to decisions on bands, decorations, table numbers, and other event details. 
  • Attend Sports Forums, supporting the elected president in getting students opinions. 

Club of the Week & Campaigns: 

  • Select and recognise the Club of the Week. 
  • Support and promote important sports campaigns within the university.

  • A chance to have your voice and inputs heard on how we can improve sports at Napier. 
  • Develop skills for your CV.
