Disability History Month


November is UK Disability History Month and we have several events lined up across all 3 campuses.

  • Merchiston Foyer: DisabiliTEA & Chill
    7th November (2-4pm)

    To kick off Disability History Month (and the impending month of deadlines & exams, yikes!) we want to offer you a chill space to come hang out, chat, study, snack and do whatever you feel!
  • Sighthill [EN]GAGE: Disability Sports Day
    8th November (2-5pm)

    Join ENSA for an amazing afternoon trying out adapted and disability sports at Sighthill Campus! All abilities welcome.
  • Craiglockhart Foyer: DisabiliTEA & Chill
    13th November (2-4pm)

    Come along and hang out, chat, study, snack and do whatever you feel!
  • Merchiston, B32: Know Your Rights Talk
    21st November (4-6pm)

    This is a panel event for those who wish to know what they are entitled to as students with disabilities or additional support needs – or anyone else who is interested in what is out there! This event, hosted by ENSA’s Equality & Diversity Officer, will showcase organisations, resources and tips that can help students at Napier and across the city of Edinburgh with regards to getting into courses or work, help within university and other issues that disabled people face.

    Featuring guest speakers from SAAS, LEAD Scotland and Inclusion Scotland.

  • Merchiston, B32: Liberation Lunch
    27th November (1-3pm)

    To finish off Disability History Month we want to celebrate the intersectionality of our campaign and our fight for equal rights! Join your liberation society for some food, music and chill from our busy exam/assignment season! If you have any dietary requirements please let us know!

Access information:
Merchiston Campus has Blue Badge parking at the front of the building. The 45 bus stops on the same side as the campus entrance along a bumpy but level path. Buses 11, 16, 23 stop at Holy Corner. To get to B32 from reception turn left, go up the 6 stairs/use the lift and follow the corridor past Napier's bust. Turn right, through the automatic doors (powered by a pushpad on the right hand side). B32 is at the end of the corridor, past the ENSA office.

Craiglockhart is at the top of a steep hill with access from bus stops via side gates, for level access follow the roads up to the main building. The main doors are automatic and powered by pushpads. We will be sitting in the main foyer.

Sighthill has Blue Badge parking and level access to main entrance. There are accessible bathrooms available at entry level and clear signage to where we will sit. Lifts available on left hand side of entrance.
