Edinburgh Napier Students Association run Societies at Edinburgh Napier. In 2024 we had 47 Societies and 1211 members. That was a 21% increase in the previous year. In academic year 2025/26 we want to encourage more of you to join and create new societies. This helps make friends, have fun and the skills you get help your future career.
A-Z OF SOCIETIES
Here are the current list of societies and who to contact to join them. Don’t worry – you can also find out more and sign up at the biggest Student Welcome Fair in Scotland at the Corn Exchange Edinburgh on Thursday 11th September of Welcome Week and there is also a Welcome Back Fair in late January / early February too A - Z of Societies
START YOUR OWN SOCIETY
All our societies are run by students for students. If we do not run your society at Napier then why not start one. Details here Start a Society
WHO SUPPORTS YOU
We have a dedicated Sabbatical President for Societies – this year it is Evans Eghan. A sabbatical is a student who runs in an election in February and takes a paid year at the end or out of their studies to support you. Craig Stephens and Megan Robertson are the direct societies staff who help you and run regular training sessions on what you need to know, hold regular forums to provide the latest news and developments (with Pizza!) and organise your rooms with our Administration Team. They are supported by other staff in Finance and communications who support Societies so you can concentrate on your activities and events. As well as the regular forums we have online chat rooms and a Volunteer Societies Committee made up of students who advise us. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with your club and behind the scenes. Who knows, you could be our next sabbatical.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
You can put details of your events on our Native platform, our events team can work on events with you, we are working on dedicated rooms at Edinburgh Napier for you to work from and rooms for activities with our society partners, Three Sisters (who run a new sports and societies club night afterward at Cabaret Voltaire which can help bring more money for societies in ENSA) and rooms at Edinburgh University Students Association (our partner Union in the city)
During the year we also run a celebration of sport and societies at the Sports and Societies Awards. Last year the dinner and ceilidh was at the Edinburgh Conference Centre.
FUNDRAISING
We provide advice on a number of policies and ways of raising additional funds Fundraising Ideas . This year we hope to bring on a student fundraiser who can also look for funding from grant givers for your activity. Look out for this exciting job opportunity coming soon. Plus we have small grants for your own activity.
