Gig Buddy

Whatever your music interest, we'll match you up with one of our service users who has the same taste in music and send you out to gigs free of charge. Not only do you get a great night out, you can also meet new people and help out a fellow music lover who would not get the chance to attend without you!

Youth Engagement & Research Volunteer - Positive Transitions

Volunteers will work as part of a team to design engaging youth consultations and work on a one-to-one basis with young people. They will be fully trained in befriending techniques and "hands on" social research skills.

Activity Coordinator volunteer

Can you run informal activities based on your hobbies, interests or pastimes? Unemployment can be a very isolating experience and many of our clients struggle with a lack of confidence. Taking up an activity allows our clients the chance to develop new skills and improve their confidence.

Collection Can Coordinator

Initially, finding shops, leisure centres and other businesses in your area who would be willing to take a collection can. Then managing these cans by collecting them when full and replacing them and sending the collection cans back to the Changing Faces

Events Planning Assistant

Assisting the Workshop Programme Coordinator to put together an exciting and varied programme of events, including creative upcycling and repair workshops, discussions and music nights. This role is logistical but also social, requiring a creative and organised person. You may focus on one or more workshops that you are developing yourself or support with other workshops that are already in planning. More individual responsibility for events can be taken according to experience level.

Fundraising & Grant Volunteers

Obtaining additional funding from a range of sources such as Trust Funds, Businesses or Private Individuals is important for CYC and the Hall Owners to allow plans for the provision of a new hall to be realised. Join the CYC Funding Group and help us rebuild!

OneKind Local Group Volunteer

The Edinburgh OneKind volunteer group attends events in the Edinburgh area to raise awareness of OneKinds campaigns to end cruelty to Scotland’s animals, and to raise money to fund this vital work. The group meets up around once a month and is led by Maree. The meetings are a chance to get an update on OneKind’s campaigns, find about the events going on in the area and put forward any ideas you have for fundraising.

Golden Years Volunteer Befriender

You will be matched with an older person aged 60+, who is experiencing loneliness or social isolation. You will help to make a positive contribution to that person’s quality of life and supporting them to re-engage with their local community.

During the match, the client will be supported to identify activities of their choice which involve getting out and about, making links with local groups, developing new friendships and taking up hobbies and interests.

LEAPS Student Volunteers

In our view, the most effective way of making young people aware of the benefits and challenges of higher education is by providing them with the opportunity to meet university students and to visit local universities. As a LEAPS student volunteer you could take part in any or all of the different activities we do, including school-based workshops, campus visits and conferences held at universities in and around Edinburgh..
