Girl Guiding Support Roles

Thinking of joining guiding but not sure you have the time to commit regularly? There are plenty of important jobs that can be done in your own time and from your own home. Opportunities include helping with unit accounts or administration, driving groups on away days, helping out at a guiding shop or depot, lending a hand with fundraising, or even helping out with DIY!

 
Gentle Movement Volunteer with Move More Edinburgh

Move More Edinburgh want to make sure that everyone affected by cancer has access to appropriate physical activity opportunities and we need you to help us achieve this. Macmillan Cancer Support is working with Edinburgh Leisure to support people affected by cancer to get active and stay active.

A gentle movement volunteer leads gentle movement classes for people affected by cancer, this will usually be done in pairs.

 
Design Assistant

Helping to grow our community of swappers, skill-sharers and shoppers by:

Designing posters and leaflets for distribution around the city;
Designing merchandise such as t-shirts, badges etc for sale;
Sourcing ethical printers and producers;
Assisting with organisation of print runs, budgets and pricing.

 
Winter Wonderland Collections

Mercy Corps will be out in force providing shoppers with festive cheer. We are looking for volunteers to support our Winter Wonderland collections. Round up some friends and join us for some festive fundraising, or if you are in a choir or a band why not support our collections with your talent!

 
Students Versus Blood Cancer

Save the lives of people with blood cancer by recruiting potential blood stem cell donors through registration events and campaigns, held on campus. To create public awareness of blood cancer and spread the mission of the world’s largest blood cancer charity throughout the UK by using all communication tools.

 
Computer Club Helpers

Scottish Seniors Computer Clubs is a federation run by volunteers to assist over 50's with their devices. The members are here to find out what they can do with a computer/laptop, iPad/tablet or phone/smartphone device. The volunteer tutors are here to help in any way they can.

 
Family Support Volunteer

To look after children and young people with disabilities to enable lone parents and parents of children with additional support needs to have a short break on a planned and regular basis. To care for the child/ren ensuring their safety and well-being in the absence of the parent / carer.

 
Supportive Transport Volunteer

Whether it's a medical or social appointment, you can help make a difference by helping individuals get out and about. This is not only practical but it helps reduce social isolation. This role is exciting and engaging and you will have the experience of working with vulnerable adults.

 
Visitor’s Centre Volunteer, HMP Addiewell

This voluntary post assists paid staff with the operation of the prison Visitors’ Centre at HMP Addiewell, providing emotional and practical support and information to visitors. You will welcome and engage positively with visitors and prison staff to ensure a positive environment in the Visitors’ Centre, and provide a welcoming environment and age-appropriate activities for children and young people.

 
Youth Engagement & Research Volunteer - Positive Transitions

Volunteers will work as part of a team to design engaging youth consultations and work on a one-to-one basis with young people. They will be fully trained in befriending techniques and "hands on" social research skills.
