Girlguiding Edinburgh - Unit Leaders and Assistant Leaders

Every Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section unit has at least one Leader, who has completed the Girlguiding Leadership Qualification. Leaders have overall responsibility for the unit, often supported by a team of other volunteers. Leaders and Assistant Leaders work with the girls to plan activities and to ensure that finances and Go! are kept up to date.

Community Navigator Volunteer

According to Age UK 1 million older people in the UK haven't spoken to anyone in over a month. Help us share information with older people on the range of services and activities available in the South East of Edinburgh. Help people to avoid isolation and increase their wellbeing

Website Manager

We're looking for a volunteer with overall responsibility for the website, including creating the website, maintaining databases of people, and managing online ticket sales. You will also need to collaborate with the graphic designer and marketing manager to build a consistent image and brand.

Golden Years Volunteer Befriender

You will be matched with an older person aged 60+, who is experiencing loneliness or social isolation. You will help to make a positive contribution to that person’s quality of life and supporting them to re-engage with their local community.

During the match, the client will be supported to identify activities of their choice which involve getting out and about, making links with local groups, developing new friendships and taking up hobbies and interests.

Food Sharing Events Coordinator

Food Sharing Edinburgh is an exciting new volunteer-led food waste reduction project. We collect food that would otherwise be binned, and distribute it to those who can use it!

The events coordinator is responsible for overseeing event(s) of their choice, with help from the Project Facilitator: from venue booking (where applicable) to sourcing food from our network and organising the volunteer schedule for the day.

Volunteer Gardeners

Edinburgh Garden Partners (EGP) is a charity established to develop garden sharing in Edinburgh. They match garden owners who are unable to manage or enjoy their gardens, with local volunteer gardeners who want space to grow their own food and have no garden or allotment. Produce is shared between the garden partners.

Assist with the day to day running of the shop by serving customers and sorting and replenishing stock. Share your passion for cat welfare and promoting the work of the charity will also be important when talking to our customers.
