About Us
Club History
The Edinburgh Napier Panthers Cheerleading Squad (ENU Cheer Squad) has been running since 2011 and we continue to grow year on year. We are proud to hold a number of awards under our belt, such as the ‘Media Award’, ‘Best Fundraiser’ and ‘Most Improved Club’.
We are a competitive team that strives for high performance; we welcome all abilities from inexperienced to elite athletes, dancers, gymnasts with both experience or no experience of cheer at all. Through our dynamic, fun and crazy training sessions and socials we build on the Panthers ethos of team spirit and family. Being part of the panthers cheerleading squad will enhance your student experience as it will allow you to create memories that will last a lifetime along with friendships.
ENU Cheer Squad also competes nationally against other teams all over the UK. We offer taster sessions so come along and give it a go. We are proud to have a team that will cater for your cheer needs, whether you want to compete or just cheer for fun, there is a team for you!
We build ourselves on our family ethos; within the Panther family but also within Team Napier. Not only will you be joining us but the whole of Team Napier too.
Teams
Level 1 Team - this team is one of our competition teams. This is for those looking to compete, are focused on learning technique and show dedication to improving throughout the year. This is a high-commitment team.
Level 2 Team - this team is our higher-level competition team. This is for those who have had past experience, or those who have experience in gymnastics or similar. However, it is not impossible for freshers to be on this team…show your dedication and we will see it! This is a high-commitment team.
Pom - this team is our dance competition team. This is for those looking to compete, are focused on sharp technique, arm movements, form and cheerleading jumps. This will be our first year having this team back since covid meaning we are super excited!
Training Times
- Level 1 - 5pm - 7:30pm
- Level 2 - 5:30pm - 8pm
- Pom - 6pm - 8pm
Memberships
Our memberships are now live to purchase! All you need to do is scroll down to our memberships purchase area, select the correct membership for you, add it to your basket and also add the Affiliation fee for the year. Once this is done you are officially a panther!! The breakdown of membershiups is available on request or on the private facebook group once the membership is purchased.
*Membership payment deadline is the 27th September 2022
Competitions
Our Competition teams take part in numerous competitions during the months of February and March. For the 2022/2023 season these are...
- BCA Glasgow - 24th -26th Feb
- QMU - TBC
- SCC - TBC (Usually first weekend of March)
- BCA Worcester - 11th - 12th March
Everyone put onto a competing team must be able to make all the competitions above.
