Couch to 5k

ENSA is running a coach-led Couch to 5k running group at Harrison Park (West) on Wednesdays at 4pm. The event is free and open to all students and staff. It will start from 1/4/2026, but you can join in the first few weeks.

You must register and get a ticket (they are free) before attending so we know who is present at each session. Please make sure to answer the questions at the checkout so we have your emergency contact just in case!

No running experience is necessary and the group will be friendly, inclusive and supportive.

FAQS

When is it?

Wednesdays 4pm, commencing 1/4/2026

Where is it?

Harrison Park (West) - we will meet at the wee circle of benches and bushes in the middle of the diagonal path

What is the Couch to 5k?

The Couch to 5k is a simple training plan to get people running, by following the app and a simple plan hopefully after 9 weeks they can run 5k!

What do I need to do beforehand?

- Get a ticket from Native (this site)

- Download the Couch to 5k app (called NHS Couch to 5k [In partnership with the BBC / Department of Health and Social Care (Digital)])

- Arrive on time and ready to run

What do I need to bring?

You just need to bring/ wear what you are comfortable running in. Please check the weather beforehand and be ready for anything! Unfortunately, there aren't lockers and there is nowhere secure to leave valuables. If you have jumpers/jackets/water/juice, you can leave this at the side, but we can't take any responsibility if these go missing, get broken, lost or stolen.

What facilities are there?

We are holding it at a public park to keep it free. Due to this, there are no toilets, showers or facilities sadly.

Have a query?

Email Moray (he is organising this) on m.pryde@napier.ac.uk and he'll get back to you. Hopefully see you there!
