Save money AND help the environment with our new ENSA Swap Shops!

ENSA is now running full-time Swap Shops on each of our three campuses.

The shops are located at:

  • 1.C.30, Sighthill (ENSA Advice Office)
  • 1/48 Craiglockhart (ENSA Advice Office)
  • Jack Kilby Computing Centre at Merchiston (near the vending machines)

You can access them at any time while the campus is open.

The Swap Shops are free to use for both staff and students, and there will be a range of clothing and homewares. Simply browse the rails and take anything you need.

There are boxes next to the rail where you can donate clothes, shoes, accessories, books, home and kitchenware (no sharp knives or similar bladed/dangerous items please). Please make sure everything you donate is clean and in good condition. If you wouldn’t give it to a friend; don’t donate it! These items will either be added to the swap shops or donated to students at other events throughout the year.

Sustainability benefits

Swapping and buying second-hand clothes is better for the environment as it reduces textile waste and creates a circular economy in our community. Instead of using new raw materials (and energy) to create more new stuff (which is likely to be poor quality and disposed of in landfill), a circular economy reuses things whenever possible to cut down on waste that goes into landfill and reduce the resources we use to create new things. And it saves you money, too!
