Is something impacting you during your assessment? Are you fit to sit?
If illness or personal crises are impacting your assessments and deadlines, and you are not fit to sit your exams to the best of your ability, you may need to request an extension or defer.
Don’t leave it too late! You can apply for a short extension to a non-exam-based assessment before the original deadline. If your circumstances are more serious or relate to a formal exam, you can apply to defer the assessment and should do so before the assessment point. If this is not possible, deferral applications may be accepted up to 5 working days after the assessment point.
If you have recently completed an assessment or missed an assessment due to health or personal circumstances you may be able to apply for extenuating circumstances or late mitigation.
If you have underlying permanent or temporary health conditions, disabilities or other contextual circumstances that affect your ability to perform in assessments, you can make use of Enduring Circumstances to avoid having to resubmit evidence of each occasion. Speak to Disability Inclusion if you think that this applies to you.
You can find information on all of these Fit to Sit processes here.
Book an appointment with ENSA Advice as soon as possible if you are worried about an assessment and unsure on how to get support with an extension, deferral, or extenuating circumstances.
