Stress Awareness Week is 1-5 November 2021. This international week was created in 2018 to raise awareness about stress prevention. Stress is the body's reaction to feeling threatened or under pressure. It's very common but too much can affect our mood, body and relationships, leading to exhaustion and physical/mental burnout.
With all the pressure of coursework and exams, living away from home, and trying to get by on a tight budget, being a student can be a stressful experience for many.
Stalls on Campus
Over the course of the week we'll be hosting some stalls on campus to share some tips for beating stress, letting you know about the useful services available to support you, sharing useful materials and guides, and handing out free colouring in sheets and pencils (with santiser spray) - it's amazing how relaxing colouring in can be!
- Sighthill campus foyer - Monday 1st November (10-11am)
- Merchiston - Friday 5th November
Mindfulness Meditation Sessions
Feeling stressed out? Learn how to unwind and relax with online Mindfulness Mediation Sessions, led by an experienced mindfulness practitioner, held every Friday throughout the term from 12-1pm. The sessions will involve different forms of mindfulness such as deep relaxation, meditation and gentle movement.
The free Webex sessions are open to all Edinburgh Napier students – just book your place via myFuture.
