Who can run in the Elections?
Any student currently matriculated at Edinburgh Napier University in the UK and actively pursuing their studies towards a qualification (as confirmed by Edinburgh Napier University), is eligible to stand for office.
If a student is running for a full-time paid officer post, and are not currently in their final year of study, they must be able to suspend their studies for a year to take up the post next session;
If a student is running for a part time volunteer post, they must be a continuing student in the following academic year.
Note that a student can only run for one position and cannot submit multiple nominations.
Students running for Campus Officer positions must be registered on a programme, or as a researcher, in the campus they wish to represent (Merchiston, Craiglockhart or Sighthill).
All those running for a trustee position must be eligible to be a charitable trustee (18 years old (+), not an undischarged bankrupt or prohibited from being a company director – see the OSCR website for more information) and sign a declaration to that effect.
All elected officers may be subject to status checks through disclosure Scotland or another appropriate organisation to ensure that they are eligible.
