Thanksgiving 28th of November
This year the knights are planning a fun filled ‘Americana’ themed Thanksgiving day! On the third Thursday of November it is an American holiday based around giving thanks and spending time with loved ones. So to celebrate this year the Napier Knights American Football team are hosting a flag (touch) football event followed by a night of games, food, football and friends.
It is family tradition in America to play a game of flag football in the back yard before returning back inside to eat your body weight in delicious food. So we thought that it was fitting to use the biggest back yard that Edinburgh has to offer and we will be playing football in Meadows (non-contact and no experience required). Following this we will be heading to our friends and amazing sponsors at canal side café and bar where McKenzie’s catering will be providing a superb turkey dinner with all the trimmings (vegetarian options will be available, please specify on ticket purchase).
During the course of the evening we will be hosting and organising fun games for all, including; corn hole, madden video games, a raffle, beer pong, darts and more!! So get your friends and loved ones together and come join the Knights for what is set to be out best Thanksgiving to date.
Itinerary for the day:
13:00 - Meet in the meadows for some flag football
2:30 – Football ends
5:00 – Doors open at Canal Side
5:15 – Start of games and fun
5:30 - First NFL football game Lions vs Bears kicks off
7:00 – Dinner starts being served
7:30 – Dinner will finish being served
9:30 – Second NFL game Cowboys vs Bills kicks off
Ticket price - £12.00. Include: flag football, entrance to Canal Side and turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
