NSS 2026 Results Are In!

The results of the 2026 National Student Survey (NSS) have officially dropped, and it’s good news for Napier!

The NSS is an independent survey that gives final-year undergraduate students the chance to have their say on the quality of their university experience. It’s a big deal, and this year, your voices have shown that Edinburgh Napier is moving in a positive direction.

Here is the rundown on the biggest wins:

We are delighted to report that Edinburgh Napier’s scores increased on 19 out of 27 questions compared to 2025, including these key areas:

  • How well organised is your course? (+4.1%)
  • How well were any changes to teaching on your course communicated? (+3.3%)
  • How well communicated was information about your university's mental wellbeing support services? (+3.3%)
  • How well have assessments allowed you to demonstrate what you have learned? (+2.9%)
  • How well does the students' union (association or guild) represent students' academic interests? (+1.9%)
  • How clear were the marking criteria used to assess your work? (+1.9%)

Edinburgh Napier beat the overall UK benchmark on 7 questions and scored higher than the Scottish national average on 11 questions.

Union score improves

Every year, the NSS asks how well your Students' Union represents your academic interests. We are delighted to announce that our score on this question has climbed to 76% (a 1.9% increase from last year).

This makes ENSA the 2nd highest-rated Students' Union in Edinburgh for academic representation, and places us joint 8th across all of Scotland.

A massive THANK YOU to every final-year student who took the time to fill out the survey. Your feedback helps make Edinburgh Napier a better place for everyone.
