Sustainability
In September the Swap Shops will be stocked up with donated items to help new and returning students save money on essentials, and hopefully stop them reaching for fast fashion and cheap, easily breakable, homewares.
Swapping and buying second-hand clothes is better for the environment as it reduces textile waste and creates a circular economy in our community. Instead of using new raw materials (and energy) to create more new stuff (which is likely to be poor quality and disposed of in landfill), a circular economy reuses things whenever possible to cut down on waste that goes into landfill and reduce the resources we use to create new things. And it saves you money, too!
