We need students to join our Welcome Team in January 2027!
As a member of the Welcome Team, you will play an important role in creating an unforgettable experience for incoming and returning students during Welcome Week. Your responsibilities may include:
- Being a friendly face for new students, helping them navigate their first week at Napier
- Assisting at events by signposting, setting up, decorating, greeting students, and scanning free tickets
- Helping students at daily campus stalls, giving information and answering questions
No experience required; we provide training for all events!
Requirements
We are looking for volunteers who are confident, enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly. You must:
- Have completed at least 1 term at Edinburgh Napier University
- Attend one of the Briefing Sessions in the days prior to Welcome Week
- Be over 18 yes old - you may not consume alcohol while working
You may on occasion be confronted by emotional and distressing situations, and must be able to handle these with care and empathy. You will be provided training on signposting students to appropriate wellbeing services.

- Compensation: After working a minimum of 10 hours, you will also receive a £30 stipend to compensate you for any travel and food expenses throughout the week. If you volunteer at the Pub Crawl, you'll get an additional £10 as it's a late-evening event.
Time Commitment
Welcome Week runs from Saturday 16th January - Sunday 24th January 2027.
Training and briefing calls are from Monday 11th - Friday 15th January. Most events are during the day (10am-5pm), with a few evenings (5pm-10pm).
We'll work with your availability when creating the schedule. Ideally you will be available to help out a few hours each day, however, we still encourage you to apply even if you have partial availability.
