The University held their annual Student and Alumni Achievement Awards on Wednesday 25 November. A current student and two graduates were recognised who have been ambassadors for the University.

The University also uses the event as an opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Edinburgh Napier students and staff with scholarships, bursaries and prizes, or donated to the Edinburgh Napier fund.

NSA are delighted that former employee, Joyce McAree (pictured above at the event with NSA staff), was awarded "Alumna of the Year" at the event. Joyce graduated as a mature student in 2014, having been both a programme rep for her course, and student trustee on NSA's Trustee Board. After graduating, Joyce was employed full-time by NSA as VBase Coordinator, playing a key role in launching NSA's volunteering service from scratch, before leaving her post last month to take up a position with Skills Development Scotland.

The winners on the night were:

  • Student of the Year - Charley Celicé (School of Computing)
  • Young Alumna of the Year - Kelly Barbour
  • Alumna of the Year - Joyce McAree

Professor Andrea Nolan said: "...all our winners tonight are extremely worthy of their new titles. We are certainly extremely proud of all of them."
