Eco Volunteers

We're looking for a group of Eco Volunteers to help with running our on-campus Swap Shops and Student Pantries. 

Our Swap Shop and Student Pantry are two new initiative to support students during the cost of living crisis, while also promoting a more eco-friendly lifestyle (food for our pantry is from FareShare who distribute surplus food which would otherwise go to waste.  

Who are we?

Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (that’s ‘ENSA’ to our friends) exists to enable students to make the most of their university experience. We do this by representing, supporting and developing Edinburgh Napier students to be successful in their studies; to try out new things; to engage in, and contribute to, university life; to be healthy and happy; to bring about positive change; and to have fun.

About the post

• Pay: This is an unpaid voluntary position. If you are not eligible for free bus travel, a small stipend will be paid to cover travel expenses between campuses.
• Hours: You should expect to volunteer for around 2-3 hours per week, most likely on a Tuesday afternoon between 2.30 and 4.30pm. Limited opportunities will be available if you're not available at this time.  
• Location: Depending on how many volunteers we have you may be working on one campus or may be required to move between two or more campuses. 
• Reports to: You will be managed by ENSA's Head of Student Engagement 

About you:

You should care about the environment, enjoy meeting and talking to students, want to meet new people and add volunteering experience to your CV.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Helping keep our campus Swap Shops tidy and putting out new donations.  
• Setting up and helping run our student pantry stalls. 
• Answering student questions and encouraging participation. 
• Counting Pantry items and Swap Shop donations so we can report on usage. 
• Feeding in ideas on how to improve both programmes.
