About Us
Edinburgh Napier Law Society aims to bring together the University’s law students and teaching staff, as well as any other students who have an interest in law.
Members gain access to all society events and receive a discount for other events and from their Law Ball ticket.
Events
We run a variety of social and academic events throughout the year. The social events range from pub socials, themed nights out, dinners and activities such as bowling and quizzes, to the glamorous end-of-year Law Ball (which is always a highlight!). These social events allow students to get to know their fellow students better and to take a well-deserved break from their studies.
The academic events include court visits, job networking events with law firms, as well as hosting guest speakers from all levels of the legal profession (judges to trainees), book swaps, drop-in clinics and workshops (including interview and application skills, essential skills for mooting etc). These events increase the employability of our members, bring together the cohort of law students and provide a great networking opportunity for students, alumni, and guest speakers.
We also provide training for and host moots via an internal mooting competition. Our committee has an extensive presence in external mooting competitions, winning the Lord Jones Mooting Competition in 2023. This breadth of experience enables us to provide the best coaching to newcomers!
We also do charity fundraisers, such as bake sales, and sell society merchandise, such as hoodies. However, we are always open to hearing suggestions from our members, so if you would like to see us put on an event just let us know and we will do our best to make it happen.

We operate a Facebook Page, LinkedIn, and Instagram, where we post updates regarding our events. We also have multiple useful links available on our link tree. Our members of the executive regularly check these platforms and respond to any queries as soon as possible.
Additional Info
The society also aims to provide academic support to any student who wishes or requires it. This ranges from anything from obtaining additional guidance from lecturers to providing an older student as an ‘academic buddy’.
We are the biggest society at Edinburgh Napier University and we aim to provide our members with a society that caters to their needs both in terms of social and academic events.
