Jazz Society

Welcome to the Edinburgh Napier Jazz Society - the newest student society at Napier! Our goal is to create a platform for jazz education, expression and appreciation for those with a passion for jazz and improvisational music. 

Whether you are an experienced jazz musician or newbie who is willing to learn, we can provide you with the opportunity to learn from professionals, network with fellow members and express your musicality in a relaxed and inviting environment. We are dedicated to keeping the music scene at Napier diverse and modern while maintaining respect for the roots and culture of jazz music.

We will be running monthly jam nights at the Three Sisters’ union bar where you will have the chance to play and demonstrate your abilities. Our jam nights will open to all styles from jazz-funk to free jazz. All instruments and abilities are welcome and if you are unsure about participating in our jam nights, we encourage you to come and watch, suss out the vibe for yourself and enjoy the music. 

When we are not jamming at Three Sisters, we will be hosting other functions including masterclasses with exciting guest musicians from around Scotland as well as social events including pub quizzes, jam nights, live music and more!
