Sports Clubs

Would you like to learn self-defence in a fun and expressive way whilst hanging out with friends and meeting people from other universities and countries? Jiu Jitsu is an eastern martial art that shares similar roots with judo but with a larger focus on self-defence and keeping fit. While there are still competitions, our Jiu Jitsu style offers a more relaxed and friendly environment.

It’s the ideal way to learn something new and stay in shape without having to lift any weights. With membership to our club, you gain the right to train at our sister clubs in the other universities in Edinburgh; with sessions taking place every day. After every session you’ll be able to socialize with friendly people with similar interests at the pub.  In addition, there are various other socials and events with students from your own and other universities, promoting self-growth physically and socially.

Training times:

  • Mondays 7-9pm
  • Fridays 6-8pm

at North Merchiston Club (48 Watson Cres, Edinburgh EH11 1EP, UK)

Other times also available, for more information on these please get in touch with us.
