Three members of the Executive Committee are full time, paid officers who take a year out of their studies or add a year onto the end of their degree to work for ENSA. The rest of the Exec are students continuing their studies while they volunteer their time to act as student representatives. They are elected across campus in a poll of all Edinburgh Napier students and take up office in the summer following their election for a term of office that lasts a year.
FULL TIME SABBATICAL OFFICERS
The Sabbatical Officers work to enhance the strategic development of the Association and each Officer has responsibility for an individual strategic theme. These Officers are members of the ENSA Trustee Board and are required to attend all meetings of the Board, Executive, Student Council, Student Forum and other assigned committees within the Association, the University and the wider community.
There are 3 campuses at Edinburgh Napier University – Craiglockhart, Merchiston, and Sighthill. Each campus has 2 elected student representatives on ENSA’s Executive. Campus Officers are senior student representatives on key University academic and wellbeing committees, they form part of campus user groups and focus on what service and facility improvements can be made on campus to improve things for students. Campus Officers also play a huge part in the general campaigns and activities of the ENSA Executive.
The Executive also has an elected Activities Officer to pitch in with projects, campaigns and events initiated by the Executive, such as the Christmas Appeal, Freshers Events, the Excellence Awards and so on.
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY OFFICER
The role of the Equality and Diversity Officer is to ensure that the University and ENSA consider the wider student demographic when they plan policy, campaigns and events, and try to ensure that no group is unfairly excluded.
