This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.
Volunteers will carry out household tasks free of charge to people over the age of 60 or who have a disability.
Our volunteers offer a Handyperson Service providing a range of skills from, changing light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries, fitting door chains, viewers and door locks, putting up shelves and fixing cupboard doors, hanging pictures, fixing curtain rails, changing
curtains and giving advice on home safety and security.
Volunteers will be trained and supported by the Care and Repair team as needed.

By caring out what might seem like simple tasks you will be making a huge difference to someone who is no longer able to do these themselves, you will get to meet some new and interesting people and recongnise and develop existing skills.

Older people often can feel isolated and increasingly frustrated by not being able to carry out tasks around their home, not only will you be able to help with practical tasks but also provide some social interaction over a cup of tea.
