Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association has been awarded a grant of £2,660 for The Lions’ Gate and community gardens to help the Edinburgh Napier University community to reduce local carbon emissions through growing produce and developing gardens on the University’s three campuses.
This is an exciting opportunity for people across the University community and beyond to take positive action in growing resources and stimulating the senses on all three campuses.

"The Lion's Gate is a gardening club that practices the permaculture approach. It is kind of like an orchard where food and fruits can be grown by students and staff. It is located next to our library in Merchiston campus, which provides an opportunity for students to take a break and spend some time with nature to relax and deal with the mental stress. Students can also enjoy the landscape from library itself through the glass walls. "
"We have talked lot about climate change, sustainability and the environment recently and now the time is to show some action. Luckily, we have received funding from a wonderful organisation called Keep Scotland Beautiful to work on the concept, which will help greatly in bringing it to the other two campuses as well."

The CCAF is Scottish Government fund, administered by Keep Scotland Beautiful, and 279 community-based organisations from across Scotland have been awarded more than £3.2 million of funding to tackle climate change.
