About Us

Would you like to learn self-defence in a fun and expressive way whilst hanging out with friends and meeting people from other universities and countries? Japanese Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that shares similar roots with judo but with a larger focus on self-defence and keeping fit. While there are still competitions, our Jiu-Jitsu style offers a more relaxed and friendly environment.

It’s the ideal way to learn something new and stay in shape without having to lift any weights. With membership to our club, you gain the right to train at our sister clubs in the other Edinburgh universities; sessions occur every day. After every session, you’ll be able to socialize with friendly people with similar interests at the pub.  In addition, there are various other socials and events with students from your own and other universities, promoting self-growth physically and socially.

Our Welcome Bundle includes a gi, badge, and TJJF licence! Hurry though, the offer disappears on Thursday 1st October!
