WELCOME TO NAPIER MOTORSPORT!

Welcome to Edinburgh Napier University Motorsport! We are the sports team for all motorsport enthusiasts and adrenaline seekers. Here is your chance to meet likeminded people, drive fast karts and represent Edinburgh Napier University at a national level!

How to join!

To join our club you don't have to have any prior experience in Karting or any form of racing. Whether you want to race with us recreationally or competitivley, our team is really open to teaching and giving all the karting tips to become pros!

To join the first step is to get in touch with us. This can either be done by emailing us at napiermotorsport@gmail.com or messaging our instagram @napiermotorsport. (Messaging our instagram will typically have faster response times).

You don't have to own any gear or kit yourself, as this is provided at the circuits we go to! However if you plan to get into the sport competitivley having your own helmet is recomended.

What we do!

Here at Napier Motorsport we hold socials for Formula 1 and other racing series watchalongs. We attend track days at racing circuits like Knockhill. As a team we race in different racing catagories across the UK, the championships we compete in are below as well as some of the other fun stuff we get up to!

SUKC

The Scottish Universities Karting Championship gives students the opportunity to represent their Univerity on a national level in Scotland. At the SUKC they use the fastest rental karts in Scotland, these go to speeds over 60mph! An SUKC race weekend consists of a timed practice, qualifying and 30 minute race! There is seven SUKC rounds in an academic year, starting in October and finishing in April. This event is hosted at Larkhall International Circuit which is just south of Glasgow. In the SUKC 2025 - 2026 season Napier Motorsport finished 2nd in the championship just narrowly missing out on the championship by 5 points. This year were looking for all of the help we can get to claim victory!

BUKC

The British Universities Karting Championship gives students the opportunity to represent their Univerity on a national level in the UK. Hundreds of students from all over the UK come together to race wheel-to-wheel in high-performance outdoor racing karts. The kind of karts that Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button spent many years testing their skills on! You will race at some of the best outdoor karting circuits across the UK on the most powerful arrive-and-drive kart fleet in Europe against some of the most succesful karters in the country who have won British karting titles, race in Formula 2, British Touring Cars, Formula Renault, and British GT.

BUKC 24 HOURS

The BUKC 24 hours is a kart race that lasts twenty four hours! It happens once a year and is hosted at Teeside International Circuit. A team consists of about 6 - 10 drivers that each take stints driving throught the 24 hours. This is by far the most fun and entertaining event of the year and we would definetley recommend!

RECREATIONAL RACES

As a club we also hold recreational races at indoor tracks like Xtreme Edinburgh and Teamsport Clydebank. Here offers a more beginner friendly karting experience for those just getting into the sport!
